Surgical Oncology Symposium
Dr. Trevor Hamilton and the General Surgery Residency Training Program are excited to invite you to attend the 2024 Surgical Oncology Symposium which will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024.
Attendees will be able to:
- Identify the indications for completion lymph node dissection in melanoma and describe the operative steps
- Recognize indications for adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapy in melanoma
- Outline a management approach to Merkel cell carcinoma
- Describe the management principles of retroperitoneal sarcoma
- Describe the management principles of desmoid fibromatosis
- Outline a management approach to lipomatous masses
- Recognize appropriate oncologic and quality of life issues in oncologic emergencies and surgical palliation
- Describe different appendiceal neoplasms and management principles
- Outline an approach to peritoneal carcinomatosis in colorectal cancer
- Describe small bowel NET management principles
- Outline an approach to multi-visceral resection in locally advanced colorectal cancer
- Recognize gastric premalignant and malignant conditions and endoscopy findings
- Describe D2 lymphadenectomy for gastric cancer and options for reconstruction
- Appraise current and evolving evidence for perioperative treatment in gastric cancer
